ATHLETICS WIN BRICKTOWN CHAMPIONSHIP WITH COME FROM BEHIND VICTORY OVER BRAVES
Updated:  08/24/2010 at 9:43 AM
Josh Meadows two out 3 run double in the bottom of the 6th inning drove in the tying and winning runs for the Athletics as they came from behind to defeat the Braves 11-9 and win the Bricktown Championship.  Both teams scored 3 runs in the first inning before the braves took a 4-3 lead with Doug Grieniesen's sacrifice fly in the second.  Josh Meadows tied the game in the bottom of the third with a solo HR.  The Braves came back in the fifth when Jonathan Bryanski smached a 3 run HR for a 7-4 Brave lead.  The Braves would add two more runs in the fifth and appeared to be pulling away.  The A's responded with a run in the bottom of the fifth to cut the lead to 9-5 setting up the deciding sixth inning.  The Braves did not score in their half of the inning bringing up Joey Toone for the Athletics who started the rally with a leadoff HR.  After one out an error and a walk  brought the tying run to the plate.  Wes Watson singled to load the bases followed by Josh Blackson's single driving in 2 runs making the score 9-8.  David Arey hit into a fielders choice and Jason Yarborough singled to load the bases for the second time in the inning, this time with 2 outs.  Josh Meadows came up and cleared the bases with a double and the A's were back on top 11-9.  The Braves would put the tying runs on base in the 7th but could not bring them home and the Athletics left the field as Bricktown Champions.
Congratulations to the A's for a great Summer Season and a thrilling victory and to the Braves for a tremendous late season push and an excellent tournament performance.
